you dont really appreciate family or really anything until you dont have it. today i realized that but not in such a harse way. i still have my family but i havent seen them in a long time, and they came today. well not the WHOLE family but two out of my three sisters (alison and brittany) and my mother (claudia). they decided to come down, bring some winter gear for this upcoming weather, take a walk around the quad. get some necessities from walmart, and then hit up some adventurous sushi.
my mom doesnt really like sushi. but i persuaded her to give it another try. we got there and the first thing i notice on the menu is how many things i actually havent had. there was things on the menu that i couldnt pronounce and i loved it. my littliest sister alison and i were feeling bold and tried the Tako, which is sashimi with octapus. yes people, i ate octapus. sashimi is kinda like sushi but instead of being wrapped up in a roll it is literally a ball of rice with raw fish or whatever on top. well from my experiences thats what it is. and thats the great thing about foriegn foods. you dont know what the hell your getting really and well... you might like some of it. you can always go to your everyday place for some burgers or tacos but that isnt new or interesting. i like experiences.
